Heading into Fall . . .

Screenprint with gold gouache.
4" x 4"

Nasturtiums with "mist fringe."

A lovely combination from the garden at Adelaide's Books.

Monoprint
7" x 9"

Fall is my favorite season.

I'm reading Sue Bender's Everyday Sacred and mulling over this idea, gleaned from it's pages:  Do more of less.

Hope your week is off to a great start!

Thanks for stopping by.  :)

"Do more of less" sounds like a great quote for me to hold by. Thanks. I love these monoprints - colours and shapes reminding me of sunflower yellows, leaf fade, seed heads. Gorgeous.

Gloria,
'Do more of less' is a good mantra and I think it's one I should sign up to. Love the graphic element in your monoprints, especially the first one with the screen print. Great colours as ever. Lesley

Do more of less...sounds like a pipe dream when one has a to-do list as long as one's arm. sigh. but something to aspire to i suppose! it was fun to be reminded of adelaide's...love that place!

Hi Lesley, I am really mulling this mantra over with respect to my various art interests. So many interests and so little time...Thanks for your comments. Gloria

Hi Betsy, Yes, I know your list must be a mile long, but the depth of your printmaking portfolio exemplifies the idea of "more of less"...i.e., more focus, less distraction. I admire that about your work. Thanks for commenting!

Hi Gloria. This concept of focusing on one thing, and following it further an be a good thing. But sometimes following a broad set of interests and techniques leads you to new places too. Beautiful prints.

Great color in your prints. They're so crisp. I love that blue--such a fall feeling. A nice little set of pictures all in a row. and a pleasure to look at!

Thanks so much for your kind words Annamaria and Susan! Yes, this book is good. Very short morsels of wisdom written by Sue Bender, a graphic artist from Berkeley, CA, when she was approximately 60. Her earlier book, "Plain and Simple" chronicled her sojourn among the Amish. I first read it years ago, and need to read it again. Susan, your photo stories are always fabulous!! Love seeing your part of our world!
