Out of Africa...And My Imgination

 Acrylic on paper
7" x 11"

Acrylic painted on repurposed chef's coat placket

So, the small painting and the painted fabric are my creations.  And these wonderful vintage wooden  pieces are machine and hand carved --- not by me, of course.  Visit Robyn Gordon's blog, Art Propelled, to see the truly beautiful totems that she carves.

Here comes the weekend!

Sophie - A delayed response to your comment. Yes, I started with several thumbnail sketches of mask-like images--just black line drawings -- and then chose a couple to paint. Thanks for your visit!

Robyn -- You're welcome! I'm always eager to spread the word around about your wonderful site. By the way, did you ever get a chance to look oup Leroy Setzoil, a renowned Oregon carver?

I did look Setziol up and then got side tracked. Now I can't remember whether I replied to you or not, but thanks for mentioning him. I googled quite a few beautiful pieces.
